On the streets of Vrindavan, calling out piteously to Krishna are thousands of widows. Some have come out of choice, but many are there because society and the family see very little use for them. For a sensitized civil society it is a matter of agonizing shame that a womans life ends with her spouses death. The Guild of Service has always worked to build the capacities of widows through both grass root and advocacy work. Our project for Ma-Dham, a refuge for 500 under privileged widows to be built on 3 acres of land is finally reached the stage of construction. Land use has been approved and registered. Plans too have been approved.

In all humility we want to make a really auspicious beginning. His Holiness, the most respected Sri Sri Jayanendra Saraswathi Swamigal of Kanchi Kama Koti peetam Jagatguru Sri Sri Shankaracharya Swamiji has in his great magnanimity consented to perform the Bhoomi Poojan for the "Ma-Dham"(The Home for Mothers) at Vrindavan.

For Guild of Service it is a great privilege and honour that the eminent scholar saint, Shankaracharyaji will bless our "Ma-Dham" which will ensure that the mothers of Vrindavan live the evenings of their lives with the dignity, which they so deserve.His consent to perform the Bhoomi Poojan indicates his great compassion for the marginilized women of our society.

Nothing can be achieved without the great support and committed involvement of the civil society.

Support for Ma Dham can be in various ways:

• Sponsoring the construction of individual rooms in the home. Rooms would then be named after the donor. Rs. 75,000/-

• A one time donation for the lifetime care of a needy woman. Rs. 20,000/- per annum

• Adopting a grand mother, thus sponsoring her care. Rs. 5,000/- per month

• Sponsoring any one woman for vocational training schemes like auxiliary nurses training, tailoring and garment production, textile printing, etc Rs. 10,000/- per annum

• Sponsoring the legal literacy programs designed to empower women with knowledge of their rights. Rs. 5,000/- per program

• In the nature of advertising support for the informative and widely disseminated souvenir being published.

This donation could be in the nature of hard and soft furnishings, building material, computers, white goods like refrigerators etc.
