Come to Camp Widow 2010!!

Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation's Widow's Conference returns this August as Camp Widow! Camp Widow 2010 will be held from August 6-8 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina in San Diego, California. Once again widows from all parts of the country and the world will gather to renew and make new connections, heal, share, and to learn about widows worldwide. Highlights of Camp Widow 2010 will include a keynote address by Michelle Neff Hernandez, founder and Executive Director of SSFL, a great variety of workshops and an opportunity to run the Widow Dash 5k.
Dr. Laura Slap-Shelton, will be hosting the Global Panel this year and will be a part of the Writer's Panel. The Global Panel will explore the similarities and differences between the experiences of widows in the U.S. and in developing countries with the help of featured speaker, Barr. Mrs. Nonyelum Madubuko, founder of the Divine Rescue Mission in Nigeria. Mrs. Madbuko, a widow herself, will discuss the work her foundation does throughout Nigeria. The presentation will include time for a question and answer session and the opportunity to learn about different organizations which support widows worldwide.
As a member of the Writer's Panel, Dr. Laura Slap-Shelton will discuss the process of writing and publishing her new book, Melissa's Magic Ride, an illustrated story for children who have experienced the loss of a parent or significant person in their lives.
