THE CONSTITUTION OF WRATH_Africa

Part 1A... NAME

The name of the organization hereinafter called the organization is WRATH-Africa (Widows in Resistance & Against Threats and Harassment in Africa).

B... REGISTERED OFFICE

The registered office of the organization will be situated in the Republic of Kenya, with the head office being in Funyula - Busia District and branch offices in other districts and neighboring countries in Eastern and Southern Africa.

Part 11A... MAIN OBJECTIVES. (Mission)

This is a faith based non-denominational organization which seeks to empower, enlighten, advocate, highlight and promote the rights, plight and remedies for widows and orphaned children therefore promoting justice.

B: SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  1. To initiate and support the formation of widows based development groups.

  2. To encourage and facilitate the initiation of community based projects that are acceptable, affordable and sustainable aimed at improving the welfare of widows.

  3. To facilitate resources and appropriate technology with respect to both physical and cultural development.

  4. To train widows in modern farming techniques, health environment, science and technology, culture farming planning and assist them acquire managerial skills and providing information on starting small-scale business.

  5. Advocating for widows and orphaned children’s right by highlighting their plight and enlightening and educating them about their rights and encouraging them to seek redness for any wrong committed to them.

  6. To promote mutual understanding between all stakeholders in the community based environmental education and development.

  7. To promote, encourage and support integrated development activities.

  8. To train widows and other persons in the use of development and managerial skills and methods and organize internship and exchange programs. To provide training on project formulating, implementation, post implementation, management process and evaluation.

  9. To promote information programs through audiovisuals and print media and provide information that encourages effort improvement.

  10. To initiate, develop and maintain close working contracts with both national and international bodies and non-governmental organizations having objects similar in whole or in part to the object of this organization.

  11. To carry on the business of consultants and advisers on problems relating to administration and organization of small-scale enterprises and training of personnel for sustainable development and advice upon the means and methods of extending development and improving all types of community based projects.

  12. To employ specialist whenever necessary for furthering the objects and purposes of the organization.

  13. To assist widows and children affected by AIDS and create awareness to the community of the dangers imposed by the scourge. To facilitate counseling, acquisition and distribution of Anti_retroviral drugs in order to alleviate the suffering of the infected group in the community.

  14. To initiate, support and provide awareness to the organized groups in the marginalized and the un-reached communities. Provision of emergency needs and information programs that promote indigenous knowledge and practices to promote micro-enterprises development especially small scale traders and formation of self-help groups and widows empowerment initiatives.

  15. To take such stapes by personal written appeals, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of procuring contribution to the funds of the organization in the form of endowments, donations, annual subscription or otherwise and to assist in promotion or otherwise participate in such other things as have for their objectives the raising of money for the purpose of achieving the goals of the organization.

  16. To apply to the international bodies, government or authorities, public organizations, corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants of money and land donations, gift, subscription, and other assistance with a view of promoting the objects of the organization and in taking any gifts or property to take the same subject to any special trust which may be prescribed by the donor therefore and which shall be consistent with the objectives of the organization.

  17. To establish or assist in establishing of schools, churches and other educational centers, libraries and to publish newsletters, brochures, periodicals, books, and other publications as the board of the organization may deem desirable for promotion of the objects of the organization.

  18. To promote or assist in the promotion of any religious groups or associations having objectives similar to the objectives of the organization and also any group or association whose objectives are calculated either directly or indirectly to benefit the organization.

  19. To lobby for the recognition and protection of the rights of the marginalized communities not to be discriminated against at work or in social, cultural, education or such like institutions whatever by reason of their gender and conditions.

  20. To facilitate the provision of all forms of adult education and youth empowerment at the local levels and in this regard provide counseling services to individuals as well as referral services on health, literacy issues strategic and gender issues.

  21. To grant pension, allowances, gratuities and bonuses and to provide a superannuation or any other funds for the employees of the organization or otherwise to assist such employees, their spouses and or children with bursaries and subsistence grants.

  22. To purchase, take lease or exchange for otherwise movable property in Kenya or elsewhere for any state or interest whatsoever and rights, privileges over or in respect of any property and buildings, machinery, engines, plants, live and dead stock or things whatsoever. This is for effective delivery of services to meet the objective of the organization.

  23. To promote gender equality and develop desirable programs towards empowerment of widows socially and economically.
